The Call #3 : We Stand Tall
I stand alone in a forest
filled with shadows and light
Yet I’ll stand tall and proud
The energy flowing through my roots
connects me to those from ages past
And sends life to those around
I’ve seen generations come and go
Eras decompose while
Evolutions and revolutions
Spring forward with new life
We were alone
Yet in the center of it all
We stand tall
We stand proud.
We’re coming to an end of this leg of the journey,
But I feel that it is only the beginning
There are choices to be made,
But more so ,
Change.
Changes in mindsets,
Changes in attitudes,
Changes in daily routines.
Focus is extremely important,
But so is living
Living in the moment
And living fully
Then stepping back to process those moments
Use those moments as tools
Harness your craft
Embrace the beauty
Embrace the journey
It’s time to create
It’s times to perfect
It’s time to be present
It’s time to Love.
We are One.
It’s a deeper level of learning to love.
No expectations
No requirements
No needs to be fulfilled.
To choose to love someone for who they are
Rather than who they are to you
To choose to love a world
without expecting it to mold to your will
…. but rather
…let it be.
It is enough as it is.
Delicate ecosystems
Intertwined
with mangled political ideals
While we all sit around arguing,
The knots are getting tighter,
Choking out her life
Choking out her soul
Is it too late,
Have we waited too long?
Or is this just a new beginning
about to shed her mourning (morning) cloak?

Looking Inside
06:47
|

Looking Inside
Shedding off the layers of darkness.
Shadowed cloaks that veil the mind
The clouds are parting like the seas
Clearing paths to the Devine.
Surging waters slowly calming
Down to easy rolling tides
The moon has risen, now its falling
Through ever changing skies.
In a culture built by technologically divided,
Reminded of the trinity
Mind, body and soul recollided
Recollecting on the times we were one
Undecided and united
Every pieces has its Purpose
It’s worth is justified by self,
Not by ego,
By contribution.
By intention with exquisite design
No detail is overlooked
No detail is too small.
The judgement that once followed the gaze
Realizes its time would be better spent elsewhere.
Looking inside.
In a world where stereotypical,
Not so much lyrical,
Captivation of the senses
Washes away thought provoking conversations
Replaced by generic words of wisdom,
Observations of the obvious,
Filler fluff of idealistic actions
and points of view
A contradiction of the norm
becomes a fad
And loses all its meaning.
We all just want to feel like we belong.
We all
just want to feel like we belong
…In some place,
with someone ….
….In our own skin,
In our own time…
We all just want to feel like we belong.
Everyone’s gonna be,
Everyone’s gotta be,
Everyone’s tryna be,
Famous.
In a time where images become idols,
Worshiping screens
Building ideas based of dust in the wind
Reflection that was once thought turns in to view
Pondering is long gone now that no ponds are needed
To look into our own eyes… our own soul.
But we don’t look into our own soul anymore,
We look to change.
Change our appearance to mask our soul to the world
Change the way we are viewed by others.
Change the way we are viewed by ourselves
Change might be what the world needs,
But are we ready for the truth?
Are we ready to face ourselves?
Are we ready to stop worshiping the images
Instead of looking within?
Where to do your values lie…
or better yet.. where do they lay?
Do you carry them as a badge or a burden?
Or do you leave them at the door?
What was right in one time
has a different face after transitioning years.
One day requires the solidarity of a mountain,
While the next,
The fluidity of a stream.

Faith
04:17
|

Faith
The choice is not mine to make
But they say, “Have faith, have faith.”
I don’t even know the way,
But they say, “Have faith, have faith.”
Faith moves the mountains
And faith parts the seas
There’s a faith for you
And a faith for me.
Faith in the good times
And through the bad.
That in all this,
There’s a lesson to be had.
“Have faith, have faith, have faith,
Have faith”
They say,
“have faith, have faith, have faith,”
They say.
Running round in circles with the same ideas.
Running round in circles with the same fears.
Running round in circles just to ease my mind.
Running round in circles just to pass the time
Til they say,
“Have faith, have faith, have faith,”
They say,
“have faith, have faith, have faith,”
They say.
Our culture has mistaken popularity
With leadership
But they’re not the same
Not even on the same plane
Plain as day.
The blind say, “follow me,”
And we follow.
But they don’t even know the way
No they don’t even know the way.
Words ….
They just want to hear their own words,
See their own face
And we repeat them
Even if we don’t agree
We still repeat them.
Modern-day prophets are a dime a dozen
Half tryna start a movement
And half just hustlin’
Throwin’ words out
“Pain and Suffering”
Ease your mind with a little bit of buffering
Heal
We want to heal.
But for that we have to know
that the pain and fear is real
-Acknowledge that it’s real.
Hate
We can’t fight hate with hate,
But who am I to say,
How we can demonstrate
Love
… but I can listen,
I can listen.

Into the Woods

Into the Woods
He followed her into the woods
She led him like she knew she should
She played her part,
She played her role.
He rolled his dice up yonder.
Gamble’s such a funny word.
Some say it’s luck,
But that’s absurd.
Luck ain’t nothing but the time,
And the work that we’ve put under.
It’s coming in ,
it’s coming fast.
This time it’s stronger
than the last.
It’s got a grip
It’s got a hold
And left us none the wiser.
They say that only time can tell
Hidden secrets to reveal
History repeats itself
While we try to surprise her.
My child, my child,
What have you done?
I said think with your heart
But you thought with a gun.
Words are so powerful
Thoughts are contagious
the movement has started
You best be courageous
these words, these words,
They have so much meaning.
We’re fighting for freedom
but really we’re cleaning
The blood off our swords
The blood off the ground
From the words that we said
That really just drown us
Back into chaos
And back into hate
This fear doesn’t help us
We need to relate
To each other
See past the differences
Learn how to love
And learn how to listen
Be aware of your choices
Aware of your thoughts
Aware of the words
That are just gonna cause
Pain for your sisters
And pain for your brothers
Pain for the children
And fathers
And mothers
We’re in this together
Don’t let them divide us
Compassion is stronger
Than the fear
That’s inside us
Clinging to hope
Clinging to love
Look within
Then reach for above.

Remember the Wolves
05:18
|
|||
Remember the Wolves
Rivers running through make these lands
Moving mountains, shifting sands,
Making waves … these days.
Greedy eyes,
full of lies,
realize
Walking through the world
With a chip on your should
-wise-
Found a way
-needle in a haystack-
Gotta say
-gonna get a payback-
Look around
Beauty doesn’t make a sound
But the sound came
And it went like this
—————
-Remember-
The wolves
The wolves
The wolves
-Remember-
Working for the job
And I’m working ‘cause I’m in it.
But the money Ian’t the answer
And the answer is within it.
Time is what we want
And time is what we need
But times the only thing
that we just can’t see past
All the differences
Freedom isn’t free
Are you gonna pay the price
Or is it gonna be me?
Why don’t we just keep running?
-Remember-
The wolves
The wolves
The wolves
-Remember-
…Roots go before the branches…
Rivers running through make these lands
Moving mountains, shifting sands,
Making waves … these days.

Down in the Valley
06:50
|
|||
Down in the Valley
This place was full of plants and creatures
Wind and water and rain
Mountains … forests..
Oceans and flames.
Each day was greeted by the rising sun
And a cool breeze
The sounds of the birds
Flutters in the trees
Then the symphony of the day
Closes out the same way it began
But only in reverse
As the sun sets
And makes way
For the moon to guide us home.
I go down in the valley
Through the swirls and the sways
Of the mist and fog
In the valley
With my sisters by my side
I go down in the valley
Mountains rising to the west
In the valley
The moon with guide us home.
We must give them time…
Time to relate…
Time to get better..
Time to have faith in one another
..in their own minds…
In this collective architecture of time
To reason
A change
Of structure
Or rhyme
To rearrange
when searching for the truth,
We must give them time.

Origin
00:55
|
|||
Origin
I come from a place where words are sounds for images
Languages for ideas
To flow through
Weaving between the senses,
Stitching together
The fabric
Of the universe
…. not that the universe needing any stitching
The stitches have been in place
since long before there were words
conceived to describe them
…but I digress…

In My Head

Like the Rain
04:00
|
|||
In my Head it’s Moving Like the Rain
Dancing in the flickering lights
Shadows moving
through the trees at great heights
When the words in her head
Don’t match the words in her soul
She’ll put her heart on her sleeve
And just let it go.
Moving like the rain
Comes in heavy
Then it’s gone again
There’s a chill moving in
On the western front
It’ll be gone by morning
With any luck
Well….
luck ain’t a thing
You gotta make it sing
You got it flowing in your bones
You got it flowing in your dreams
Making waves
Send them out
Casting lines
Casting doubts
You’ll find it lurking in the shadows
Of the weary souls
You’ll find it deep in the hearts of the ones that know,
‘It’s ok..
it’s alright,
That’s just fate..
That’s just life.”
When you’re moving like the rain.
Stop
Drop
Make it walk
Make it make your thoughts talk
Slow it down
Flow around
Flow it through your thought box
Tell the world
to take your words
Observe them
In their own accord
Speed it up
Take it back
Burn a bridge
Build a shack
Holla’ at the mind that gave you everything
-you’ll give it back-
Condensation
Interpretation
Elevation
…in the rain.
Every place you go to
And everyone you meet
They got a story
Got a past
They gonna lay it at your feet
Looking for redemption
Yet they’ll say they want peace
A piece of you
A piece of me
A piece is all they need
They want love
They want hate
They want perfection
Yet they want mistakes
…when you’re moving like the rain…

The Seeds I Sow
06:19
|
|||
The Seeds I Sow
Moments …
They fade in and out of each other
Like the ebbing tides
Making way for the next segment
of perceived time
Anticipation builds
Emotions and connections
Wax and wane
The moment comes
And then it’s gone
Blowing sand in the wind
All that’s left is silence
Consciousness
Presence.
The seeds I sow are scattered all across the plains.
The seeds I sow are scattered all across the plains.
Don’t wait for me to finish up
Don’t wait for me to come around
Darlin’ there ain’t nothing wrong with you
I just got dreams that I can’t drown
The seeds I sow are scattered all across the plains.
The seeds I sow are scattered all across the plains.
Sometimes I find them in the mountains
Sometimes they’re moving through the trees
At the first light of morning
Or in the a moonlit breeze
The seeds I sow are scattered all across the plains
The seeds I so are scattered al across the plains
I know I have a purpose
I know I’ll make a way
These dreams always keep me moving
But they make it pretty hard
To stay
In one place
These days
The seeds I sow are scattered all across the plains
The seeds I sow are scattered all across the plains
We’ll find a way
We’ll find a way
Sing to me , sweet sister
Your words flowing through the whispers of the wind
Lightly landing
On the branches
And being carried upon the fallen leaves
And the winds will
carry them home
And the winds will
Carry them home
Floating atop the currents of the stream
As she makes her way
Down the mountain
Deep in the valley below
She calls to me
In a language unknown
Yet understood
By every fiber and bone
In my body
Her voice resonates
Within my very soul
“My child, have faith.”
The seeds I sow are scattered all across the plains
The seeds I sow are scattered all across the plains
And the winds will carry me home
And the winds will carry me home
My child have faith,
We’ll find a way.
We’ll find a way,
My child, have faith.

On Our Way
05:46
|
|||
On Our Way
The highway rolls out under checkered skies
I’ve got clouds in my rear view
And the sun in my eyes
But there’s no
slowing down
When there’s love
to be found
Everyone says not to believe
But I see,
yeah I see
There’s beauty in the harmony
And we’ll find peace
Yeah we’ll find peace
We’re on our way
To love
The sun shines in through autumn leaves
I’ve got the wind running
Underneath my feet
They all say there’s no other way
But I’ve got faith
Yeah I’ve got faith
We’re on our way
to love
Gonna see the light
Gonna rise above
Gonna hold my head up
Gonna see the light
Gonna rise above
Gonna hold my head up
I’m on my way
To love
We’re on our way
to love
